B&B Italia Charles – Citterio's sofa from 1997

With the Charles, Antonio Citterio designed a sofa in 1997 that B&B Italia now describes as an icon of contemporary design. Its structure is simple: a continuous seat cushion, armrests and loose back cushions on a frame of tubular steel and steel profiles. It stands on die-cast aluminium feet shaped like an upside-down L. In the seat cushion, B&B Italia combines polyurethane of different densities with down, and the back cushions are filled with polyester fibre. The deeper Charles Large was added in 2003.
