Knoll Wassily Chair — Design & Comfort
The Knoll Wassily Chair, designed by Marcel Breuer at the Bauhaus in 1925, is one of the most influential chairs in design history. Inspired by the tubular steel frame of his bicycle, Breuer created the first armchair made of bent tubular steel — a revolution that fundamentally changed furniture production. The construction was only possible due to a new process developed by Mannesmann-Werke, which produced seamless steel tubes that could be bent without breaking. The name Wassily refers to the painter Wassily Kandinsky, Breuer's Bauhaus colleague, who admired the design and received a copy for his living quarters.
Wassily Chair at aaron-gmbh.com — Sustainable Luxury
The Wassily Chair is for design connoisseurs and architecture enthusiasts who want a piece of living design history in their home. Despite its museum status, it is a full-fledged lounge chair whose cantilevered seat and backrest offer surprisingly dynamic seating comfort. It serves as a striking individual piece in the living room, as a reading chair, or as a statement piece in architecturally sophisticated spaces. Its transparent, open structure makes it ideal for rooms that should not be visually cluttered.
Why buy a used Knoll Wassily Chair?
The Wassily Chair has been produced by Knoll International since 1968 and has been an epitome of modern design art for almost 100 years. The combination of chrome-plated tubular steel and durable leather is designed to last for decades. At Aaron GmbH, you receive this Bauhaus classic professionally inspected and refurbished — a sustainable way to own a piece of design history that retains its value for generations.
