Rolf Benz Grata – classic upholstery with a spring core

Grata, listed by Rolf Benz as model 330, is a sofa programme in classic upholstery construction. A wooden inner frame carries a spring core suspension; the seat and back are made of polyurethane foam beneath a topper with a down-like feel made of foam sticks and polyester fibres. The stand-alone sofa, add-on sofa, corner add-on sofa, extra-large add-on sofa, add-on bench and upholstered end bench can be used to create straight sofas and corners. The side sections come low or high, the feet in bright chrome or traffic black.

Grata corner sofa in brown fabric

This Grata is a corner sofa with brown fabric upholstery and room for four people. The brown looks warm and goes well with oak, walnut, linen and cream tones. As a corner solution, the sofa turns a corner of the room into a shared seating area, suitable for families and for living rooms where several people sit together in the evening.

Why buy a pre-owned Rolf Benz Grata?

Rolf Benz, founded in Nagold in 1964 by the upholsterer of the same name, has carried the “Furniture Made in Germany” label since 2020. With the Grata, what counts is what lies beneath the cover: a wooden inner frame, a spring core suspension and padding of polyurethane foam. This construction is made for everyday use, and the simple form will still look right in a new interior. This piece has been inspected in eight stations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which elements make up a Grata corner sofa?

Rolf Benz builds the Grata from a stand-alone sofa, add-on sofa, corner add-on sofa, extra-large add-on sofa, add-on bench and upholstered end bench. The corner add-on sofa is used to create corner solutions, and the other elements form straight sofas.

How is the Grata upholstered?

The seat and back are made of polyurethane foam, covered by a soft topper of foam sticks and polyester fibres. Beneath this, the seat has a spring core suspension on a wooden inner frame.

What are piped back cushions on the Grata?

Piping consists of narrow, topstitched edges on the border of the cushion. Rolf Benz offers piped back cushions for the Grata as a variant; they emphasise the contour of the cushions and give the sofa a stitched line.

How do you care for a Grata with fabric upholstery?

Vacuum the cover regularly with the upholstery nozzle or brush it with a soft brush. Dab stains as quickly as possible with a damp, light-coloured cloth, without rubbing. Direct sunlight can fade fabric colours over time.
