Walter Knoll Jaan Living — Floating upholstered surfaces on a delicate frame

The Jaan Living by Walter Knoll thrives on the play of opposites: generous, softly filled upholstered surfaces appear to float above a wafer-thin aluminum frame. The designers at EOOS have drawn the legs so slender and elegant that the heavy seat cushions seem to stand in mid-air — lightness and substance in perfect balance. This set consists of three parts: the sofa as a 2.5-seater, a matching armchair and a generous stool, all covered in the identical mottled grey textured fabric. The 95 cm deep seat and the loosely placed spring core cushions provide the casual, relaxed seating comfort for which the programme is known.

Jaan Living at aaron-gmbh.com — Sustainable Luxury

As a three-part set, the Jaan Living furnishes a complete living area in one go — without the laborious search for matching individual pieces. Sofa and armchair form an open seating group, while the stool serves either as a footrest, as an additional seat for guests or, with a tray, as a low coffee table. The restrained grey tone of the textured fabric harmonises with light and dark wooden floors alike and can be given new accents at any time with cushions and rugs. Thanks to the low back height of 70 cm, the room remains visually open — ideal for spacious living rooms, loft apartments and representative reception areas.

Why buy a used Walter Knoll Jaan Living?

A new Jaan Living set in this composition costs many times as much — at Aaron GmbH you receive it at a fraction of the new price. Walter Knoll has been manufacturing in Herrenberg near Stuttgart for over 150 years and processes exclusively high-quality, durable materials: solid wood and aluminum constructions, carefully built upholstery and refined covers. It is precisely this substance that makes a used piece of Walter Knoll furniture so attractive — the quality is retained over decades. Every piece is checked, cleaned and expertly refurbished by us before it goes on sale. Anyone who buys used extends the service life of an elaborately manufactured product, saves resources and gets timelessly beautiful design that will still be current in ten years.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What pieces are included in this Walter Knoll Jaan Living set?

The set is a three-piece collection consisting of a 2.5-seater sofa, a matching armchair, and a spacious ottoman. All three pieces are upholstered in the same grey textured fabric and stand on the signature black aluminum frame.

Who designed the Walter Knoll Jaan Living?

The Jaan Living was created by the Austrian design studio EOOS, which has worked closely with Walter Knoll for many years. It is characterized by the contrast between generous, softly upholstered seating areas and a distinctively delicate aluminum frame.

What are the dimensions of the sofa in this Jaan Living set?

The sofa measures 208 × 95 × 70 cm (width × depth × height) with a seat height of approximately 44 cm. We would be happy to provide the exact dimensions of the armchair and ottoman upon request.

How does Jaan Living differ from the classic Jaan?

Jaan Living is the more residential, generous version of the Jaan family: at 95 cm, it is significantly deeper than the classic Jaan and features loose spring-core cushions. The result is a more relaxed, softer seating comfort while maintaining the same formal clarity.

How do I care for the fabric upholstery of the Jaan Living?

Regular vacuuming with a soft brush attachment is sufficient for daily care. Stains should be addressed immediately by dabbing from the outside in with a clean, slightly damp cloth. For a deep clean, we recommend a professional upholstery cleaning service. This set has already been professionally cleaned and refurbished by us.
